Richard is the founder and CEO of NavigateX. He started the company to operationalize the science of technological disruption: to take the deterministic models that explain how transitions actually play out, and turn them into decisions, models, and strategic outputs that senior leaders can act on. The company's flagship platform, Janus by NavigateX, sits at the center of that work.

His career spans three decades of building technology businesses. He founded his first start-up in the late 1980s and has gone on to build and lead a series of companies, each at the intersection of emerging technology and a real-world problem. Those include MonStar Labs (a pioneer in digital broadcast automation), Cyberglue (an early web innovator across online education, finance, logistics, and the non-profit sector), Cloud M (public safety), and Blerter (sports and entertainment logistics).

He is a previous CEO of RethinkX, where he led the organization through a substantial expansion of its research, publication, and partnership programs, including the 2025 Understanding Stellar Energy report (which he co-authored). He remains a contributor to RethinkX's ongoing work. He founded NavigateX to take that body of research into operational engagements with the institutions whose decisions shape how the disruption actually unfolds.

Beyond NavigateX, Richard is an active investor and serves on the boards of several technology start-ups. His previous board roles include the Institute for Environmental Science and Research (ESR, the New Zealand government's public-health and forensic-science institute) and Mondiale Health. He brings to that work a hands-on technical background, a track record of building and leading high-performance teams, and decades of global commercialization experience.
